5 Showstopper Custom Range Hoods

No kitchen is complete without a grand custom range hood. These stately appliances are useful for clearing the air of pollutants and are also essential pieces of a solid kitchen design. In fact, a custom range hood often becomes the centerpiece of the room, with everything else in a kitchen almost serving as accent pieces.

We found five showstopper custom range hoods that you must see! Whether you’re designing a new kitchen or beginning a remodeling project, you’ll find plenty of beautiful inspirational ideas right here.

1. Signature Steel for a Signature Style

This stunning Premier hood in stainless steel is accented with brass straps and rivets, which brings a bold, sleek presence to this kitchen. The range hood is a wall-mount hood with three sides, a recessed apron, and decorative trim.

It’s the grandest piece in the room and leads the eyes down to the stainless range below it, but not before guests pause to notice the beautiful brass pot-filler faucet.

Pot-filler faucets are exactly that – faucets right at the range area to make it easy to fill large pots with water. This eliminates the need to haul a heavy, full pot across the room. Since the faucet is an accent piece, the finish is brass to match the brass accents of the range hood.

Another feature in this kitchen that is designed to bring out those brass details is the lighting. The recessed lighting on the ceiling shines down on the reflective brushed stainless steel finish, sending plenty of light all around the kitchen to brighten it up.

The globe pendant lights also have a brass finish, which was done intentionally not only to match the finish of the other details in the room but also to add warmth to the space. Other brass features that help pull the entire room together are the knobs on the range and the drawer pulls on the cabinetry.

The countertops are a great choice in this room, although someone might wonder at first why they aren’t the same color as the cabinets or even the wall. However, the dark grey color is perfect because it balances the light shade of the walls and cabinetry with the darker tones of the custom range hood and the range below it.

The small appliance built into the island is also stainless steel with a black control panel and window, which is reflective of the finishes of the range and hood. As you can see, everything in the room really does come back and circle around to the stunning custom stainless steel range hood.

2. Stately Brushed Steel and Brass

There’s no doubt that the focal point here is the range and custom range hood set! The dark brushed stainless finish is a perfect choice. A darker finish would’ve produced too much contrast here, and a lighter one would’ve created the appearance of a room that is washed out and drab.

Bringing this kitchen space to life even more are the brass accents throughout. Brass highlights the rivets and trim of the range hood, the bezels, knobs, handles, and trim of the range, and the cabinet and drawer handles.

The brass is used not only in one or two of the steel pieces but also throughout other kitchen components to tie the entire space together with a common (brass) thread.

Although the kitchen cabinets here are very modern and “clean” in appearance, giving off a contemporary vibe, the custom range hood and range add a strong vintage industrial aesthetic to the picture. It’s a great example of unexpected contrasts that work well, thanks, in part, to all of the brass.

One of the nicest subtle touches that makes a strong statement here is the glossy tiled wall, which is the same white as the cabinetry. The visual interest here depends on the detail of the wall instead of the color. White was chosen to continue the fluidity of the room and to make the gorgeous range and custom range hood stand out.

Bringing contrast to all of the white in the room is the beautiful dark hardwood floor. The floor was chosen with the intent of bringing a warm richness to the room and balance to all of the bright white that is present. It does the job perfectly.

3. A European Contemporary Retreat

Brushed Metal Range Hood

The showstopper in this kitchen, without a doubt, is the gallant range hood, gleaming with the reflections of the lights and towering above an equally stunning range.

The bright brushed stainless finish of both pieces contributes to the overall contemporary, “clean” aesthetic of the room. The other appliances have the same brushed stainless steel finish, too, including the hardware of the cabinets and drawers, the faucet and soap dispenser at the sink, and the pot-filler faucet above the range.

The grand stature of the gorgeous custom stainless steel range hood is magnified even more by the stainless straps and rivets that decorate it. There are lights on the underside of the range hood that shine down on the range, and the items on the shelves to the left of the hood bring it all together beautifully.

The wall behind the range hood is a perfect choice that adds enough visual appeal to make the space interesting without cluttering everything up. Since the range, range hood, sink, and countertops are a lighter shade, the dark cabinetry offers a nice, balanced contrast to the room.

Notice the little details that tie in that dark color by bringing it to other areas of the room (like the serving tray on the counter and the pieces on the bottom wall shelf). In addition, the small green plant on the serving tray also mirrors the beautiful green foliage visible just outside the window.

The overall design of the room is solidified even more by the simple little addition of those wall shelves. They are important because they are the only things that match the flooring in this kitchen.

When a homeowner can bring the aesthetic of one surface all the way over to another in a way that doesn’t overwhelm the room, it’s a beautiful triumph in design!

Did you notice the gorgeous sink? The farmhouse undermount sink adds an elegant touch that is just rustic enough to lend a bit of a country vibe to the room.

4. Copper Range Hood = Grand Statement

Even though there is visually a lot going on in this kitchen, there is still no doubt that the prime piece in the room is the gorgeous brushed copper range hood. Choosing a brushed finish as opposed to a finish full of shine was a good choice; otherwise, there would be too much visual commotion on that side of the room.

The custom range hood has brass trim at the top and along the horizontal edges of the apron, giving the hood a solid, upscale look. To complement the trim, there are brushed brass pendant lights above the island, and if you look closely, you can see brass hardware on the drawers and cabinet doors.

Extending the brass highlights throughout the small details in the room creates continuity and ties everything together. This fluidity in design is important to keep a room from looking like it was accidentally thrown together with a poor design.

The wall behind the beautiful custom range hood is the piece in the room that adds just a little bit of extra visual interest. The light color of the tiles helps diffuse the space at the same time.

5. Neutrals at Play in a Luxurious Open Kitchen

open concept kitchen

This extraordinary open-concept kitchen is a delightful example of just how much of a fantastic statement a custom range hood can make. Even though there are plenty of other things in the room to look at, the eyes are immediately drawn to the hood.

With a brushed stainless finish and brass rivets and straps, this wall mount custom range hood is the same width as the range below it (a hood must be at least as wide as the range over which it hangs). Never be tempted to have a hood installed that is narrower than the range.

The entire kitchen is neutral, save for the plant on the counter and the purple flowers at the window on the far side of the room. The stunning crystal pendant chandeliers have brass hardware that ties in with the brass on the range hood and the brass hardware on the cabinets and drawers.

Using neutrals is the perfect way to keep a busy area from looking too small, too narrow, or too cluttered. The white wall and cabinetry offer fluency in design, and the gray stone of the counters and the island reflect the beauty of the range hood and the range.

The recessed lighting does a nice job highlighting it all without taking up any of the visual real estate of the room.
