Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Does it Take to Receive a Custom Range Hood?
Production time depends on the complexity of your design. Most custom hoods ship within 4 to 7 weeks. For orders within the United States, delivery typically takes an additional 3–10 business days, depending on your state and location. International shipments may take longer due to customs and shipping logistics, so CopperSmith provides guidance and updates for each order to keep you informed throughout the process.
Can I Install a CopperSmith Hood Myself?
While our range hoods are designed for straightforward installation, we recommend using a professional contractor to ensure proper mounting and ventilation. This helps maintain performance and comply with local building codes.
Are CopperSmith Hoods Compatible With Any Kitchen Range?
Yes! You can pair our hoods with gas, electric, or induction ranges. We also offer a variety of hood sizes and blower options to suit different kitchen layouts and cooking needs.
What is the Life Expectancy of a Range Hood?
A range hood is an investment, and with a CopperSmith hood, you're investing in your kitchen's future. Our hoods are built to last for decades, not just years. Crafted from high-quality metals like copper, brass, and stainless steel, they will handle the daily demands of your kitchen with ease. With proper care, they'll age beautifully while working hard to keep your air clean for years to come.
How Much Should it Cost to Install a Range Hood?
Installation costs can vary, but generally, you can expect to pay anywhere from $300 to $1,000. The final price will depend on a few things, like where you live, how complex the job is, and whether your home needs new ductwork. Because every project is a little different, we always recommend getting a detailed quote from a professional installer.
How Much Bigger Should the Hood Be Than the Range?
For your range hood to work its best, it should be a little wider than your cooking surface, ideally by about 24 to 30 inches. That extra coverage does a much better job of capturing smoke and steam, especially if you have a larger stove. Of course, our design experts are always here to help you get the sizing just right for your kitchen.

Is higher or lower CFM better for a range hood?
Your CFM (cubic feet [of air] per minute) requirement can be determined individually, according to the size of your space and the kind of cooking you'll be doing.
We offer both integrated blower and remote blower fans, with CFM ranging from 295 CFM to 1260 CFM. If you're unsure what your requirement is, please ask our live customer assistance; we're happy to help.
How do you install a custom range hood cover?
World CopperSmith does not offer an installation service, however, there is an abundance of professionals worldwide who can install your custom range hood at an affordable price.
We strongly recommend that you hire a trained professional. Different types of hoods, like wall-mount range hoods or island range hoods, have unique requirements and ducting plans. A pro will be able to get the job done quickly and safely with our detailed installation guides.
How high should a range hood be above the stove?
Most traditional range hoods are installed 20"-24" above your cooktop, though the hood height can increase for a larger stove.
Ask our live customer assistance if you're unsure of how the dimensions of your kitchen will affect your range hood.
Does a range hood have to be vented outside?
A range hood can be vented (ie. ducted) to the outdoors, or it can be ductless. A ductless hood doesn't vent the air outside but instead purifies and recycles the air through a heavy-duty charcoal filter.
Are ductless range hoods worth it?
Choosing a ducted or ductless range hood is largely a matter of personal preference. Installing ducting can cost more initially, but ductless hoods will require you to change the filter more often. The placement of your hood and its proximity to the outdoors can be another factor. Go ahead and ask us if you want our opinion on which option could be right for you.
