Actor Adrian Grenier has created a beautiful home on a spacious property near Austin, Texas. But, really, it’s more than just a home. The property has created a lifestyle that is centered on sustainability and a deep connection to nature. CopperSmith® is proud to have played a small role in bringing Adrian’s vision to life, and it is an inspiring story of how something as fundamental as a house can be tailored to serve a greater good.

Our Second Collaboration
This is not the first time that CopperSmith® has had the pleasure of serving Adrian on a project. The first time, it was for a Brooklyn brownstone that he was renovating. The results of that first project were impressive, and we were excited to hear that he had a completely different type of project in mind this time around.
Of course, a Texas ranch is a long way removed from a Brooklyn brownstone. Despite the fundamental differences in the projects, however, some common threads remained. Adrian is deeply committed to sustainable living and the use of responsible materials. He also appreciates timeless design and attention to detail in handcrafted pieces. That makes CopperSmith® a natural fit for the kinds of spaces he wants to create.
A Beautiful Vision for the Future
It’s easy to see the Adrian Grenier Texas ranch property as a physical representation of his overall philosophy. Like many people, Adrian values his connection to the earth and believes in sustaining and protecting the natural world around us. However, he doesn’t just want to hold that idea close to his heart. Instead, he wants to put it into practice, and have that principle guide his day-to-day activities and decisions.
Adrian Grenier stands beneath his island-mounted CopperSmith® range hood, featuring a smooth bronze finish, paired with a handcrafted wood countertop for a warm, natural aesthetic.
“I wanted to really take the next step in my environmental journey and get very close to nature and how I can be a greater steward every day in practice as a lifestyle, not just an idea”, he told People Magazine in a 2023 interview. Grenier went on to explain in the interview that he simply has a more enjoyable experience in life when feeling connected to the environment and his place in it.
Given this perspective, it’s clear why a ranch property outside Austin would appeal to Grenier as a place to build an intentional, natural life. The 46-acre property holds many opportunities that simply aren’t available in the busy urban environment of a place like Brooklyn.
The Signature SX1 Was a Perfect Fit
As Adrian worked to update the kitchen in his ranch home, it became clear that a new hood would be needed as part of the design. And, given the central positioning of this hood over the island, it was a prime opportunity to look for a show-stopping centerpiece. Having experience with CopperSmith® previously, he didn’t have to think long about where to find a solution.
Our Signature SX1 Range Hood made perfect sense right from the start. The sloped, sweeping sides command immediate attention, while the modern, minimalist lines are in keeping with the theme of simplicity that runs throughout the property. Adrian opted for a smooth texture on his preferred Bronze Copper finish, and the results were simply stunning.

Like everything in the CopperSmith® line, the customization options on the SX1 hood are virtually endless. For this project, a sleek and minimal aesthetic was the goal, so few changes were made to the fundamental design. However, other clients may choose to experiment with any of a number of other elements. Straps can be added, along with rivets, to give the piece a more detailed, traditional look. Many different finishes are also available, along with varied textures to accompany those finishes. The basic design of the SX1, or any of our other products, can be seen as a canvas on which the rest of a client’s vision can be created.
Fundamentally Practical
Of course, it wasn’t going to be enough for this hood to simply look the part. It also needs to function properly to accommodate the daily use that this kitchen sees on a busy ranch property. With perfect positioning directly over the stove top, and recirculating ventilation, the SX1 hood will move air effectively out of the kitchen for years to come.
That durability is another part of the practical advantage of going with products made from real materials that have been handled by skilled artisans. Buying mass-market range hoods in Texas that will need to be replaced shortly with another one would not align with Adrian’s vision for the future, or for his property. Durability goes hand-in-hand with sustainability, after all.
One other piece of the sustainability puzzle is intention. When a piece like this SX1 hood is intentionally designed by a custom manufacturer, it fits perfectly in a space and never needs to be replaced. It looks like it was made for the kitchen in Adrian’s Texas home, because it was. Down to the last little details, this is a one-of-one item. That’s exactly how Adrian wants it, and that’s exactly how we do things at CopperSmith®.
CopperSmith is a Leader in Responsible Luxury Design
In some circles, sustainability is seen as a concept that requires sacrifice. Or compromise. It’s seen as an optional choice to make – if you are going to be responsible and considerate of the world around us, something has to be given up elsewhere.
We don’t see it that way. We believe that functional pieces can perform their duties, look great, and be produced in a sustainable, ethical manner. It gives us tremendous pride to be a leader in this space, and it has provided us the opportunity to work with excellent clients like Adrian on exciting projects.
The Story is Still Unfolding
Adrian Greiner’s property in Texas is all about natural growth. It’s about the changing nature of the world and our place in it. In many ways, that’s a perfect match for the way our Signature SX1 Range Hood will continue to evolve in the years ahead.

Natural materials like copper change as they age. They take a new character. The tone deepens and the color shifts, catching light in new ways as the years pass. His kitchen won’t look exactly the same in five years as it looks today, and that’s perhaps the best possible compliment regarding what he has created.
It’s been a pleasure and an honor to work with Adrian on two completely different projects. He’s a wonderful client and an excellent example of how our products can be used to achieve very specific goals in design and intentional living. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with next, and we hope to be a part of it.
