Choose a range hood width greater than or equal to the width of your cooktop. Standard in the industry is to order your range hood in the same width as your cooktop.
Note: straps and rivets on the sides of range hoods are not included in the specified width of the hood, and may protrude up to 5/8 of an inch beyond the overall width.
The ideal height of your range hood will depend on the height of your ceilings and ventilation performance expectations. Your range hood should be installed 27”-36” above the cooktop.
Note: crown height is included in the overall height of your hood.
The formula for calculating your range hood height is:Range hood height = ceiling height - cooktop height - space between top of cooktop and bottom of hood
Example: for 8ft (96in) ceilings. 96-36-30=30in range hood height
