Bathroom UD3 - Quarter-moon Undermount Sink

Thinking about swapping out your current sink for an undermount sink option? We've got all of the reasons why that might be a great idea listed right here.

First, undermount sinks are known for their distinctive features. Because the edge lip of the sink is mounted below the countertop, the sink hangs underneath the countertop, so as to allow it to hang right under the counter rather than sitting on top of the counter. It is important to note that this renders this type of sink most appropriate for solid surface materials like granite, soapstone, marble, or concrete. It is not well suited for laminate counters, which maintain too many weak points along the seams and grount lines in order to support the weight of the sink.

One of our favorite pros, is the ability to keep things incredibly clean with this model. With no exposed rim to capture dirt and other grime, you can ensure that anything you want to wipe off the counter goes right down the sink, rather than anywhere else.

You can also reclaim a tremendous amount of bathroom counter space with an undermount commercial bathroom sink. We recommend this if you're looking to create an air of luxury within your commercial bathroom. This sink can be customized in a variety of textures, to ensure you get the aesthetic of your dreams. Additionally, you can opt for a specific reveal upon installation, to control every detail of the look you want for your commercial bathroom. How do you select a reveal? We'd be more than happy to help you.

There are a variety of reveals that you can consider when selecting your undermount sink setup. You can match the sink to the hole using three different styles: a positive reveal, a negative reveal, or no reveal at all. The easiest of the three is no reveal at all--with this style, the hole in the countertop and the sink are the same size. This type is the easiest to keep clean, but requires very precise cutting and installation. For this reason, it is ideal to purchase a countertop with a precut hole, and a sink with measurements to match it. With a positive reveal, the hole is slightly larger than the sink opening. This leaves a small portion of the sink rim visible. This allows the most leeway for an imperfect cut in the countertop, and is relatively easy to keep clean. On the other hand, an undermount sink installed with a negative reveal means that the countertop is smaller than the sink opening. While this is perhaps the most streamlined look, it is also one of the most challenging options to keep clean.

The team at CopperSmith is standing by to help you, and we can't wait for you to reach out and begin the process of customizing the perfect undermount copper sinks for your business.
