This stock pot is the perfect addition to your kitchen for making stock for light summer soups and warm winter soups. Making your own stock is a ritualistic process that allows you to control what wholesome goodness you put into it. Stock is the base for so many delicious foods, like soup, curry, chili, braising projects, or you can even just have it by itself!
Making your own stock can be health driven if you’re conscious about additives or preservatives in store-bought stock. Sometimes it can be a happy product of having chicken or duck bones left over from another large meal. Other times it can be purely flavor driven if you are searching for a broth with an exceptional richness or lightness. When you have control over creating a food that serves as the base for so many other foods, your entire kitchen and culinary repertoire will be elevated.
This stock pot is made for optimal heat transfer from stovetop to inner stock deliciousness. It combines two metals to do this. The exterior layer of the stock pot is a 2.3 mm thick copper sheet that is formed to the stock pan shape. Copper absorbs heat very quickly and will take in all the heat from the stovetop that will then travel all the way through and up the sidewalls of the pot. Then this heat will transfer to the inner stainless steel layer which is only .2 mm. Because it’s so thin, the heat immediately goes into the stock. Et voila! Your stock is not only being heated from the bottom, it’s getting cooked from all around. With two sturdy cast iron handles and a durable copper lid with a cast iron handle of its own, this brushed copper stock pot will be a reliable partner in your kitchen.
